Splints/straighteners are great for straightening your hair, but hair care products, essential oils, and the like can easily build up on the heating board, resulting in sticky, dirty surfaces.
In addition to not looking good, it can also cause serious damage to your hair. So follow these steps to make your splint look clean and safe to use by doing a basic cleaning and removing the buildup.
Do the basic cleaning first
The first step is power on. After plugging it in, turn it on to the lowest setting and heat it up for a few minutes. The temperature can help loosen the accumulation or dirt on the heating plate, which is effective for subsequent cleaning.
Step 2 Power off and unplug. After the machine is turned off, place the splint on a heat shield or hand towel for about 5 minutes. Do not place the cleats directly on the counter or edge of the sink, as this may burn the surface.
Step 3 Wipe the heating plate with a damp cloth or paper towel. While the heating plate is still cooling, place your hand one centimeter above the plate to check whether it is cool enough to touch. If you feel the temperature when touching, dip a towel or paper towel in warm water and wipe the heating plate until it is basically clean.
Step 4 If you've never cleaned a splint before, use a professional cleaner. Beauty and hair supply stores offer a wide range of specialized cleaning products for hair tools. If you've used your splint hundreds of times, but this is the first time you've used a cleaner, a professional product is more suited to your needs.
Then remove the accumulation and stains
Step 1 Rub the splint with a cotton ball and alcohol. The first thing you need to do is make sure the splint is completely cold and dip a cotton ball in alcohol. Wipe the straightener with a cotton ball, and sign it to wipe it. Once done, moisten the splint with a clean cotton cloth and wipe it down again.
Step two: Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Put about 1/4 bag of sous sous in a bowl, then pour in hydrogen peroxide and mix until smooth. Dip your finger into the hair straightener with the mixture to wipe off the accumulation and stains caused by hair spray.
Step 3 Scrub the splint with a toothbrush or magic wipe. Use a gentle wipe, such as a toothbrush, magic wipe, and other slightly strong wipe stains, including the front end of the glue and heating plate joint. Magic Rub is a mixture of melamine resin, formalin, and sodium sulfite water, which is very helpful in removing stains.
Step 4 Apply straightening cream. Hair straightening creams are mainly chemical ingredients used to straighten curls, but can also be used to clean your splints, but you need to follow these steps.
· The splint needs to be powered off, and then evenly coated with hair cream on the heating plate.
· Plug in and power on and leave for 10-15 minutes
· Turn off the machine and wait for the splint to cool completely, then wipe off the straightening cream with a clean towel dipped in water
